Fetches and Folklore

Join us for a double bill showcasing two of the most exciting debuts from the past year. Playful and spirited, Kym Deyn and Colin Bramwell explore and undo binaries, drawing on the shadows and trickster figures of folklore to do so.

Kym Deyn’s Folkish moves between the alive, the legendary, and the haunted in endlessly inventive forms, casting curses on bad landlords, exhaustion and poverty. Colin Bramwell’s Fetch evokes the doppelganger who ‘fetches’ you to the afterlife, meditating on the difference the sacred and the profane, the written and the real, the reader and the poem.
