Grace Yee

Grace Yee is the author of Chinese Fish (Giramondo, 2023; Akoya, 2026), which won the Victorian Prize for Literature and the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Poetry in Australia, and the Mary and Peter Biggs Award for Poetry at the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards in 2024. Her poetry has been widely published, appearing in The Shanghai Literary Review, The Guardian, Heat, Evening Odessa (Ukraine), Poetry New Zealand Yearbook and Best of Australian Poems, among others. Her awards include the Patricia Hackett Prize, the Peter Steele Poetry Award, a Creative Fellowship at the State Library Victoria, and grants from Creative Australia. She has taught in the creative writing programs at Deakin University and the University of Melbourne. Her second collection, Joss: A History (Giramondo), was published in 2025.
