To the Point: A Workshop with Pens and Swords
Led by award-winning spoken word artist EmmaClaire Brightlyn, who also happens to be an international fight director, this is a chance to be bold and brave in your writing.
Engaging the writer’s body in movement they may not be accustomed to can release pathways to writing. Alternating bursts of writing prompts and basic sword work involving both gentle and dynamic movement, this is an opportunity to parry words, cut lines, clash ideas, and lunge out of an everyday writing pattern.
Accessible to anyone who can hold a pen.
Writers are asked to bring their own notebooks or writing utensils. Swords will be provided.
