Catherine Street

Catherine Street is a poet and visual artist based in Scotland. She investigates the body, matter, sensation and cognition, often by creating layered and dramatic environments where space, voice and image intersect. She explores the energy and viscerality of lived experience and how it might be brought into dialogue with the coolness of critical reflection. Her work is often informed by the fields of medicine, philosophy and ecology. She has performed her writing at many of Scotland’s institutions including The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, CCA Glasgow, DCA, Talbot Rice Gallery and The National Library of Scotland. Catherine has done residencies with Cample Line, Magnetic North, Take Me Somewhere, Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Moniack Mhor and Hospitalfield. Sheis a member of feminist poetry collective 12 and often collaborates with other poets, musicians and performers. Catherine's writing appears in a range of journals and publications online and in print, and her video work has been shown across Scotland and beyond.
