Ulrike Draesner

One of Germany’s most acclaimed poets and novelists, Munich-born Ulrike Draesner has been awarded numerous prizes for her literary work. She has published seven major poetry collections, eight novels, two of which were nominated for the German Book Prize, and three collections of stories and essays. A member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry, she has held poetic residencies at Goethe University Frankfurt, the University of Oxford, Dartmouth College and most recently the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2018 she was appointed Professor for Creative Writing at the Deutsche Literaturinstitut Leipzig. Draesner is a member of PEN Berlin, the Berlin Academy of Arts and the German Academy of Language and Poetry. She resides in Berlin. www.draesner.de
