Anoraq

Fronted by award-winning Mexican-Scottish poet Patrick Romero McCafferty, Anoraq is a Glasgow-based spoken word band. Their debut album An August Work Party, was released in May 2025. They were The Scotsman’s Artist of the Week in April 2025. The band has supported acts as wide-ranging as LYR (Simon Armitage) and hip-hop duo Frankie Stew & Harvey Gun. Since 2023, the band has hosted Inside Voices, a poetry and music night showcasing many emerging voices in Scottish poetry with special appearances at Kelburn, Connect, and Paisley Book Festival.
